Join the Oxford Millennium Orchestra and conductor Joe Davies as we journey from darkness to light with one of the most imaginative and enigmatic works written for symphony orchestra: Mahler’s Symphony 7. Also known as “Song of the Night” for its shadowy opening movements, Mahler’s seventh symphony immerses the audience in an intimate and ever-changing sound world. Expect some unexpected musical guests – including mandolin, guitar, and herd bells – along the way.
About the Orchestra: The Oxford Millennium Orchestra is one of the leading student-community symphony orchestras in Oxford, comprised of musically accomplished undergraduates, postgraduates, and members of the wider Oxford community. We perform diverse and demanding programmes of classics from the orchestral repertoire alongside lesser known works deserving of more acclaim.
