An evening of music for orchestra and concert band, performed by students in the senior years of Oxford High School. The programme is built around concerto performances by the school’s Year 13 Music Scholars. These will include movements from the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, the Bruch Violin Concerto, Grant Kirkhope's tour de force for trombone and concert band, KirkFeld, and two original works composed by sixth form students. The school’s concert band will be playing a medley of Gershwin's ever-popular songs from Porgy and Bess, the percussion ensemble will dazzle and delight us with some lively Latin numbers, and we’ll finish with Ravel's orchestral showpiece, Bolero.
